Ep. 88 Not Goodbye, Just See You Soon: Why I'm Pressing Pause on the Podcast (For Now)

When I hit record on the very first episode of the Six Figure Brand® Podcast back in February of 2025, I had no idea where it would go. I just knew I was craving some sort of creative outlet, a place where I could share my thoughts on branding, tell stories, show the behind the scenes of my business, and have some genuinely raw, honest conversations with other entrepreneurs.

A year and a half and 88 episodes later, this podcast has become one of the best things I have ever created in my business. We have covered branding, marketing, client stories, business ownership, confidence, creativity, motherhood, and just about everything in between. I have had the privilege of interviewing some truly incredible guests, and honestly, I think I have learned just as much from creating this show as you have learned from listening to it, maybe more.

One theme that has come up again and again on this podcast is the importance of building your business intentionally. So today I want to practice what I have been preaching. I am pressing pause on the podcast for a little while, and I want to tell you why, reflect on what this show has meant to me, and give you a glimpse of what's coming next. Because this is absolutely not goodbye. This is see you soon.

Why I started the Six Figure Brand® Podcast in the first place

I started the podcast while on maternity leave, right at the tail end of 2024 heading into the beginning of 2025. I was craving a creative outlet where I could share my thoughts on branding, tell stories, have honest conversations about business, talk to other business owners I admired, and be a little less polished than I felt social media allowed me to be.

At the time, I was also genuinely struggling with Instagram. I was using it to try to grow my business and, transparently, it was not working. I was putting in so much effort, so much planning, and I simply could not keep up with it alongside a toddler and a newborn at home. I wanted a way to get my thoughts out into the world without creating graphics, without everything being perfectly planned and polished and intentional down to the pixel.

Podcasting gave me that place. I could think out loud, tell longer stories, explore ideas that do not fit neatly into a 60 second reel or a carousel. And once I got into it, it very quickly reminded me why I fell in love with business and marketing in the first place.

What I didn't expect to gain from podcasting

I knew going in that this was a passion project for me first. Of course I hoped it would be valuable for my listeners too, and I think it has been. But I genuinely did not anticipate how much I would gain from it personally.

This podcast helped me find my voice. It made me more confident sharing some of my spicier, more unconventional opinions, and it helped me stand much more firmly in my own philosophy around branding. It has built relationships I almost certainly would not have otherwise.

It also completely changed how I approach content creation. Instead of constantly trying to conjure an Instagram post out of thin air, or scrolling the Reels tab hoping to find a trend worth copying, I could just hit record and have a real conversation, then let that conversation turn into dozens of pieces of content. That has done wonders for my decision fatigue, that exhausting hamster wheel of never having enough ideas, or having too many and not being able to execute on any of them.

Starting this podcast has been one of the best decisions I have made in my business, for a lot of reasons. So you might be wondering, if I love it this much, why hit pause on something that's working?

Loving something doesn't mean it fits every season

Here is the honest answer. I still love this podcast. As I write this, it remains one of my favorite things I get to do every week. But loving something does not mean it is the right fit for every season, forever.

Producing a podcast is genuinely time intensive. There is research for every episode, outlining, recording, editing, writing show notes, creating promotional content, and managing the scheduling of guest interviews. I do all of this myself. I don't have a podcast manager. It adds up.

Now that I have 88 episodes under my belt, I feel like I have built a really solid body of work. And that gives me the permission I need to take a step back so I don't burn out on something I genuinely love. I need a little space to think bigger picture and more strategically about what role this podcast should play in the future of my business.

This decision actually lines up with a lot of what I tell you to do on this very show: work in seasons, play the long game, build your business intentionally, and make decisions because they are right for you, not because they are what is expected or what the online business world insists you should do.

And I know exactly what the online business world says about this. Do not take a break from podcasting, because whenever you come back it will be hard to get traction again. I know that going in, and I still think this is the right decision for me. I could absolutely power through and keep publishing every single Tuesday. But I never want to create content just for the sake of creating content. I want to create because I have something meaningful to say and because it genuinely serves a purpose, both in my business and in the businesses of everyone listening. Right now, giving myself space to breathe, think, and regroup is the decision that serves that purpose best.

This is NOT a goodbye, I promise!

To be crystal clear, this is not the end of the Six Figure Brand Podcast. I will be back. I already have plenty of ideas simmering for what comes next. I'm interested in experimenting with releasing episodes in seasons rather than weekly, and I have some ideas for mini series I think would be genuinely fun to produce. I don't know exactly what any of that will look like yet, and I'm completely fine with not having all the answers right now, because giving myself some brain space is exactly what will help me find them.

I can promise you the podcast will return. I cannot promise you an exact date. My current plan is to take at least through the end of 2026 off. I might come back sooner. I might extend it a bit longer. I will know when I know. Make sure you're on my email list and following me on social media so you're the first to hear the moment I have something concrete to share.

What to expect while I'm away

The good news is there are 88 episodes already waiting for you. I would bet you have not listened to every single one, and even if you have, I would bet you could go back and re-listen to a few and still walk away with something new.

I'll keep sharing older episodes on social media and through my email list whenever they're relevant to what I'm talking about at the time. I'm also going to spend some of this time going back through and updating the blog post versions of every episode along with the show notes, making them genuinely SEO friendly so people can actually find them through search. Some of my favorite conversations are honestly buried way back in the archives of this podcast, and I want to give them new life and make sure you get every last juicy nugget they have to offer.

Thank you for supporting the Six Figure Brand® Podcast!

If you've made it this far, thank you. Thank you for listening, for sharing the podcast, for leaving reviews, for sending me DMs whenever an episode really lands for you. And thank you to every single guest who took time out of a busy week to share their knowledge, their expertise, and their stories with my audience.

Creating this podcast, and I know I have said some version of this several times already, has genuinely been one of the most fun things I have done in my business in a very long time.

So again, this is not goodbye. I will be back. I will see you very soon. I am still going to be all over the internet, on social media, in your inbox, so make sure we're connected there. I cannot wait to see what's in store next for the Six Figure Brand Podcast. I don't know exactly what that is yet. But I know it's going to be awesome, and I hope you'll stick around so I can share it with you.
