How Danielle went from Relying on Referrals to Confidently Marketing Her Business Again

Branding, Web Design, & Marketing for Zeigler & Co. SEO and Digital Marketing Agency

It might seem crazy that someone could build a six-figure marketing agency with virtually no marketing… but that’s exactly what my client Danielle Zeigler had done when she came to me.

Danielle is an SEO strategist and digital marketing consultant who had grown her business for a decade almost entirely through referrals and repeat clients. But after years of growth, her brand no longer reflected her business, or where she wanted to take it next.

She wasn’t clear on who she wanted to market to, her DIY visual identity no longer felt like her, and instead of actively putting herself out there, she had stopped marketing almost entirely.

Through the Ultimate Brand Experience, we rebuilt her brand around two things: the clients she wanted to work with and the agency she wanted to grow.

The result was a clear strategy, a brand that finally felt like Danielle, and the tools and confidence she needed to start actively marketing her business again.

But before we dive in,
Here’s what Danielle had to say…

SEO Strategist Danielle Zeigler

"Working with Morgan on my brand strategy was exactly what I needed. I'd been stuck for over a year trying to figure out how to talk about my business in a way that felt authentic and clear. In just our initial strategy session, we cut through all the confusion. She asked questions I hadn't thought to ask myself and helped me see where I was creating roadblocks.

From copy to my logo, website, and social media I felt so supported knowing everything was built around the same strategy and nothing would be forgotten.

Now that everything is complete, I finally feel confident in how I show up. And more importantly, the right clients are finding me."

— Danielle Zeigler, Founder, Zeigler & Co.

The Challenge: Her Business Had Grown, But Her Brand Hadn’t Kept Up

Danielle had spent more than a decade helping businesses increase their visibility, attract qualified leads, and grow through SEO and digital marketing.

She had a strong reputation, great clients, and a successful business… but her own brand had fallen behind.

Over the years, her business had evolved significantly while her brand had become a collection of DIY decisions made at different stages along the way.

Her feminine, flowery visual identity no longer felt like her. Her services and messaging weren’t as clear as they could be. And her website was trying to speak to everyone from solopreneurs to major corporations.

That made it difficult for potential clients to know whether Zeigler & Co. was actually for them. In some cases, people assumed Danielle only worked with large organizations based on the projects they saw on her website.

It also made marketing harder for Danielle and her team.

She found herself second-guessing what to say, who she was talking to, and how she wanted the business to show up. Eventually, she stopped actively marketing and relied almost entirely on referrals and repeat clients.

Those referrals had helped her build a multi-six-figure business. But Danielle wanted to grow more intentionally, build her team, diversify her revenue, and create a business that could eventually become less dependent on her personally.

Her brand needed to support where she was headed next.

Step One: Building a Brand Strategy Around the Business Danielle Wanted to Grow

We started the Ultimate Brand Experience with a Stand Out Brand™ Strategy Session to get clear on the foundation of Danielle’s brand.

One of the biggest questions we needed to answer was also one of the most fundamental: Who did she actually want to work with?

Danielle had experience working with everyone from solopreneurs to major corporations, and her existing brand was trying to leave the door open to all of them.

But when we looked more closely at the clients she most enjoyed working with, a much clearer pattern emerged… established service-based businesses that were ready to grow.

That gave us a stronger direction to work with.

We could focus the brand on attracting more of the clients Danielle actually wanted instead of trying to appeal to every possible person who might need SEO or digital marketing support.

From there, we clarified what made Danielle’s approach different.

SEO is a crowded industry, and a lot of the messaging focuses on rankings, traffic, keywords, algorithms, and technical tactics… but Danielle brings a much more human approach to the work.

She combines her technical SEO expertise with a people-first, values-aligned approach to marketing. She looks at each client’s business as a whole, finds opportunities others might miss, and creates customized strategies that make sense for their goals, strengths, and existing content.

That became an important part of how we positioned Zeigler & Co.

We also clarified the bigger purpose, mission, vision, and values behind the business so Danielle had a foundation she could use to guide future decisions. This also helped us address another big piece of Danielle’s vision for the future.

Step Two: Building a Brand for the Agency She Wanted to Grow

Danielle had built a reputation around her personal name, but the business itself was growing beyond her.

She had a team already and wanted to continue growing. She also saw opportunities to create additional revenue streams and build a business that didn’t require her to personally manage every detail forever.

So we evolved the brand from Danielle Zeigler to Zeigler & Co SEO & Digital Marketing.

That shift allowed us to preserve the reputation and personal connection Danielle had spent years building while creating a brand that could better support a growing agency.

Then it was time to make sure the visual identity supported that same direction.

Danielle’s previous brand had been created years earlier and leaned heavily into a soft, feminine, flowery aesthetic that no longer felt like her.

At the same time, as an all-female SEO agency, Danielle didn’t want to lose the femininity altogether. She wanted it to feel more like her and to help Zeigler & Co. look distinctly different from the typical “SEO bro” agencies in her industry.

When we talked about Danielle’s personal taste, she gravitated toward brands like Fossil, Vans, and Volcom… grounded, creative, confident, and a little unexpected.

That gave us a much more interesting visual direction to work with.

We developed a richer jewel-toned color palette, a more sophisticated typography system, botanical elements with more edge and personality, and an updated logo system that could represent Zeigler & Co. as a whole.

The branding we landed on kept a sense of femininity, but in a way that felt much more confident and distinctly Danielle. It also gave Zeigler & Co. a recognizable visual presence that stood apart from the more technical, masculine look common in the SEO industry, while still feeling polished enough to speak to the established businesses she wanted to attract.

Step Three: Bringing the New Brand to Life

Once we had the strategy and visual identity in place, the next step was making sure Danielle could actually use this new brand everywhere her clients would encounter it.

For Danielle, that meant thinking through how the new brand would show up everywhere from her website to her social media, including:

→ Photography direction so her new images would feel cohesive with the brand and communicate the right personality.

→ A redesigned website around the clients she wanted to attract, with clearer messaging and a stronger presentation of her services.

→ Branded marketing collateral, including a service guide she could use with potential clients

→ Details like team email signatures so the experience felt consistent beyond Danielle herself.

And because one of the biggest goals of the project was to help Danielle start actively marketing again, we developed a social media strategy and 30 days of strategic content to help her put the new brand into action.

Danielle wasn’t left staring at a new logo and brand guide wondering what to do next.. instead, she had a cohesive brand and the practical pieces she needed to start using it.

As she explained: “From copy to my logo, website, and social media I felt so supported knowing everything was built around the same strategy and nothing would be forgotten.”

Everything came back to the same foundation we established at the beginning of the project: the clients Danielle wanted to work with and the agency she wanted to grow.

The Results: Clarity, Confidence, and a Brand Built for Growth

The impact of Danielle’s new brand went far beyond having a website and visual identity she liked better.

She finally had clarity about what the heck she was building… meaning she knew exactly who she wanted Zeigler & Co. to attract and could communicate why those clients should choose her.

She had a clear point of view around her people-first approach to SEO and marketing, a brand that could represent her team and support the agency as it continued to grow, and a strategy she could use to make decisions about new services, partnerships, marketing opportunities, and future growth.

All of those things together made it 1000x easier to show up because instead of questioning who she was talking to or how she should position the business every time she created something new, Danielle had a clear foundation to come back to.

Her team had that foundation, too, making it easier for other people to represent Zeigler & Co. consistently as the business grew.

And after years of relying almost entirely on referrals and repeat clients, Danielle finally felt confident actively marketing her business again.

That’s the transformation we were working toward from the beginning.

Danielle had already built an incredibly successful business. Now she had a brand that could help her actively attract the clients she wanted to work with and support the agency she wanted to grow.
